With an Oiltek Interesterification Plant, you can reduce your cost of goods by formulating your value-added margarine and shortening from cheaper raw materials. Or you can tailor-make new oil products with unique properties.

We will custom design your interestification Plant to mesh in with your refinery operations. Your Interestification Plant can be fitted with its own neutralising and bleaching systems according to your individual requirements.

As an added benefit, if so equipped, your interestification Plant can be used to quickly increase your neutralising and bleaching capacity during particular periods, or when you have to treat special quantities of oil batch-wise.

INTERESTERIFICATION PROCESS

Using interestification, we rearrange the distribution of fatty acid moieties throughout the triacyglycerols of one oil or a blend of oils, without changing the fatty acids themselves. The result is a significantly changed melting and crystallisation behaviour. It is this changed melting and crystallisation behaviour that can be the basis of dramatic raw materials cost savings and productivity improvement.

The process is as follows :

Neutral feedstock is pmped batch-wise to the interesterification vessel, or crude feedstock may be neutralised in the vessel if suitably equipped
The oil is heated under vacuum and dried
A catalyst is added and the reaction proceeds
After the reaction is complete, the catalyst is deactivated by dilute aqueous citric acid solution
The finished oil is washed with water to remove soap by-products and then dried under vacuum

A light post-bleaching step is carried out to remove residual soaps.

SINGLE INTERESTERIFICATION VESSEL
Minimise your capital investment but maximise your production rate by feeding neutralised oil directly to the Interesterification Plant. The interesterified oil is post-bleached in your existing bleaching plant.

SINGLE INTERESTERIFICATION VESSEL WITH NEUTRALISATION
For little added cost, integrate neutralisation in your Interesterification Plant. Completely control your feedstock free fatty acid levels and eliminate changeovers by neutrlising directly in your Interesterification Plant.

SINGLE INTERESTERIFICATION VESSEL WITH POST BLEACHING
By adding earth dosing and bleacher filter systems, we can integrate post-bleaching yet maintain high production rates.

TWIN VESSEL SYSTEMS
For absolute control of feedstock quality and reaction reliability, double vessel systems enable pre-bleaching of feedstock and can include neutralisation and post-bleaching.

SINGLE INTERESTERIFICATION VESSEL WITH NEUTRALISATION AND POST BLEACHING
For stand-alone operation, integrate neutralisation, interesterification and post-bleaching in the same vessel.
